This year's schedule
We are doing "Steel Magnolia's" around January 8th and "A Midsummer Night's Dream" in the first week of May. There might be a one act for the boys, Broadways Cares might be cancelled this year or just postponed to a later date.

That's a really bad idea. Having Winter Break cut in the week before we perform.

That not only affects the cast but the audience as well. Just getting back to school I know I wouldn't be up for seeing a play right away. There are a lot of things to consider.

Re: This year's schedule
I think this sucks for 2 reasons:
1. Steel Magnolias is primarily girls. There's like... 3 boy.roles -_-
2. No fucking musical. I understand he loves Shakespeare, and there are some theater kids who do too, but honestly, that show needs more than 5 devoted people. And students would rather see a musical. No one wants to pay to see something they won't understand or enjoy as far as teenage students goes...

Re: This year's schedule
The only strong core are females and nobody (me included) have given him plays at all and he's going based on what he's seen. 2nd off, The musical isn't going to make us any money, Shakespeare is free, we only have $2,400 in total!!!!!!! US DOING A MUSICAL ISN'T GOING TO HELP US OUT FINANCIALLY AT ALL. There's only like 3 people who really care about doing a musical, and we might do Broadway Cares and one act for guys! If you don't like it, then please talk to Mr. M about it

Re: This year's schedule
Mr. Malluk decided on Steel Magnolias because none of the other male actors stepped up to show what they have. He talked to me after class one day and told me that he has only seen a few girls show what they are made of. As far as not doing a musical, he already said that we would most likely do a one act musical.
Re: This year's schedule
I understand Shakespeare is free, but that doesn't mean people want to see it. And musicals have always been the one theater production that everyone gets excited about!! And i think everyone is just used to Mrs. B knowing what we were good at.
